Not only for Cudder but for music fans around the world. When we look back at the legacy of Cudder, this album should be given much appreciation. Personally, the top 3 ranked albums are interchangeable depending on the day but for the sake of an overall ranking, Indicud takes the number 3 slot. Not only was Indicud one hell of an album, Cudder brought along Too Short, A$AP Rocky, King Chip and Kendrick Lamar along for the ride. Despite the process and journey before, Indicud was no where near a disappointment.Īlmost entirely self-produced, Kid Cudi delivered one of his most dope and positive sounding albums since his debut.

Then the album was said to be a double-disc album but instead featured 17 tracks. At first Cudder’s third solo album was titled MOTM III, but then was changed. Indicud went through a lot of change before it came to be what it was. Yes it was Cudder’s third solo album but Indicud was the first breakaway album from the classic Man on the Moon series. No one quite knew what to expect with Indicud. This is where the ranking becomes extremely difficult. Some of the standouts from the album are Too Bad I Have to Destroy You, Balmain Jeans, and Going to the Ceremony. Am I the only one who wanted to hear Flying Lotus and Cudder collab after this album? Imagine that…. The energy was there and you could feel what Cudder was trying to accomplish with this album but the decline of lyrics hurt this albums potential. The entire album flows nicely from beginning to end as Cudder delivers an album that feels built for a NASA astronauts space journey.įresh off of Indicud, Satellite Flight just felt like it was missing something. This time around Cudi sacrificed his lyrics to deliver a true listening experience. Despite no word on the release of Man on the Moon III, this album served as a prelude between Indicud and MOTMIII. Satellite Flight truly felt like a cosmic experience. As a surprise to fans, people automatically jumped on it. Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother MoonĬudder’s fourth studio album, Satellite Flight unexpectedly released towards the end of February in 2014. (Side Note: this album inspired the confused Krusty Krab meme.)Ĥ. As much as I appreciate his honesty, this album did not do it for me. Understanding the theme of comforting darkness in Cudder’s music, this album just felt lost in the shadows. Some of the standout tracks are Confused, Adventures, and Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven. There is almost no sign of hip-hop influence but all rock influenced. When it comes to consistency, the sound may change but you can always expect Cudder to deliver raw emotion in his music experience.Īs lengthy as his latest project is, I find myself rarely revisiting more than a handful of tracks. Where do I start with this album? First off, Speeding’ Bullet 2 Heaven is hands down the most experimental album in Cudder’s history. As a long-time fan, this will be easier said than done. As Cudder carefully craft his 6th studio album “Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'” (awesome title!), GiveUhDamn decides to rank his albums from best to worst. In other words, his history is more than impressive. Cudder’s had a hand in Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3, Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy & 808’s and Heartbreaks. Not to mention the inspiration and influence he has had on the potent Houston rockstar Travis $cott.Ĭudder’s discography is one of talent transformation and unapologetic self expression. Don’t believe me? Look at some of your favorite artist today. Kid Cudi’s impact on the trajectory and sound of music is unspoken of but sonically evident.
